Morogoro. Mzumbe University (MU) in collaboration with a Chinese Linghan Group Company is set to initiate an exchange programme that will give the former’s students chance to frequently visit China for learning techniques used by the Asian country to revolutionise its economy.
MU vice chancellor Prof Joseph Kuzilwa unveiled
the plan here yesterday during an official tour of the Chinese company’s
chairman, Prof Daniel Chieh.
Prof Kuzilwa said the anticipated programme would create an opportunity for Mu students to visit China for study purposes.
He said: “The cooperation between the university
and the company will have positive impact to MU and the nation as a
whole, given that China is a powerful country economically.”
The academician, however, urged MU students to
grab the opportunity by particularly being inquisitive during the
execution of the programme in a bid gain the anticipated skills that
would consequently be passed to their fellow students who will not
secure the chance to visit China.
For his part, the Chinese company’s chair, Prof
Chieh said, his company found it important to cooperate with the
university in order to exchange experience which include teaching MU
students Chinese language as a means to advance the language.
The company chairman said, his company envisioned
helping MU students by imparting to them different development
techniques for the betterment of their families and the country at
large.
Some MU students, including Hussen Mkangwa and
Fatuma Abdalman, said they considered the programme an ample opportunity
for them to excel in their careers.
